Portnellan House. 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom spectacular late Victorian Shooting Lodge House set within its own grounds at the base of Ben More just outside the picturesque village of Crianlarich. In Gaelic this means Port of the Eilean Dochart. The area around Portnellan House would have served as the port to the castle, now a ruin, located on the island on Loch Dochart a short walk across the lambing field from the house. The hamlet known as 'Portnellan' would have had services available to occupants of the castle. This would have included a black smith, butcher, farmer and many more.
Several hundred years later the Portnellan estate has been split and nowadays the Taylor family have resided since 1980. The beautiful Victorian shooting house is now available for holiday rental just outside the picturesque village of Crianlarich. With the famous mountain of Ben More reaching to over a 1000 metres from the back garden, Loch Dochart to the North and Ben More burn running along the West side of the estate.

Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with full size baths. Another bedroom has an en-suite power shower room. A master bathroom serves the other two bedrooms with Victorian roll top bath. Towels, bathrobes, slippers and toiletries are all provided.

Dining room with private bar. There is a 'snug' TV room should anyone wish to watch their favourite TV programme as so not to disturb the other guests Finally, a West facing conservatory with furniture to lounge and enjoy a sunset over Loch Dochart.

The views from Portnellan House are simply breathtaking and can all be admired from the privacy of your patio. Garden furniture is provided and a Weber gas BBQ can be supplied .
A large private garden with nature all around you. Bird feeders are placed to encourage our winged friends of which there are plenty.
A short walk across the lower meadow to the loch and river side you will find rowing boats and Canadian canoes moored which are free to use. A small island is on Loch Dochart with a castle ruin. A perfect adventure.
If fishing is your thing, you have 5 miles of loch and river fishing free to use. Fishing tackle is available to purchase from the visitor centre. Fishing rods available to borrow free of charge.
Cycling on and off road. Bicycles and helmets are available with plenty of on and off road routes available in the area. If you have your own helmet, bring it.
