About Us

Family owned and run 4 and 5 Star self-catering accommodation in the Highlands of Scotland.

Portnellan is located just outside the picturesque village of Crianlarich offering spectacular loch and mountain views within a stunning and private Highland estate, this is a central location for touring and visiting many Scottish attractions and adventure.

Portnellan are award-winning, luxury self-catering lodges and cottages sleeping 2 to 8 people, with en-suite bathrooms and fitted kitchens - some properties even have sauna and spa bath. They are equipped with LCD TVs, DVD, some even have full SKY package, Blu Ray DVD and Nintendo Wii. WiFi usage is available as well as a BBQ.

There are great hill walking opportunities in the area to suit everyone, 40 munros within a 10 mile radius, wonderful hill running and first rate cycling.

Portnellan has a rating of 98% on TripAdvisor.com being awarded a 'Certificate of Excellence for 2011' and for the second year running 'Certificate of Excellence 2012' as rated by the guests. We also hold an overall rating of 8.7 out of 10 by Zoover

On site activities include free boats, bikes, Canadian canoes, and 5 miles of loch and river fishing. An on site visitor centre with a small essentials shop, fresh organic meat (perfect for BBQing or home cooking), local information, board games and DVDs.

This beautiful accommodation is available for short breaks, weeks or longer.

A really great base for exploring this beautiful part of Scotland, and lots to keep the family occupied, from canoes and bikes, to games and dvd's. Lodge very clean, well maintained and equipped, and with plenty of its own space. The loch and mountain views, the peace and restfulness of the place, even the purity of the tap water, all make you want to stay. Review posted 13th August.

My daughter rented two cottages at Portnellan for the celebration of her 21st birthday. We had no idea what to expect before we arrived, and we had travelled from the United States to attend her birthday. The magic of Portnellan added to the magic of seeing my daughter turn 21. What a beautiful location, and the cottages were lovely vacation homes with everything we could need.

Everyone had a terrific time, the young ones and us old-timers! Thank you to the gracious staff (namely Cameron's family.) You made us feel welcome and made her celebration a delight!

I highly recommend these cottages for anyone who loves a magical place to sleep and roam in one of the most magical places I've ever been! Review posted 14th August.
