Portnellan is centrally located to reach many Scottish towns and cities with a good road network to travel on. There are many activities to see and do as well as great shopping at every level. However, in the immediate location of Portnellan there are a number of shops and mobile facilities to help with providing day to day groceries. I have listed a few below. Please note that Crianlarich Village Store, MacGregors and Gourlay Butchers work in partnership with Portnellan to provide order forms. This way you can order all your provisions in advance, delivered free of charge to your lodge or cottage on the day of your arrival. These order forms will be sent to you as part of your confirmation when booking.

    Keeping Children Happy

Portnellan is a wonderful place for children of all ages. The immediate area around the lodges and cottages is safe for children to wander and explore freely. The natural terrain allows magical adventures in the meadows, forests and mountainside with a wonder of wildlife, rocklife and plant life on your doorstep for you to enjoy. As you would have already read the boats, bikes, canoes, kayaks, fishing, swimming, walking and hikeing are all available free of charge. For those slightly damper or lazy days we recognise that it is important to keep you entertained. Some lodges and cottages are equipped with Blu Ray DVD, Nintendo Wii and SKY TV. The visitors centre has a wide selection of board games, DVDs and magazines. Free Wifi is also available

    Accessibility

All lodges are on one floor and apart from a few steps from the parking area which is located alongside the lodge they are suitable for people with impaired mobility. Please note that Portnellan does not have any specifically modified properties for disability access. Pinemarten Lodge has had some provisons installed to help. These include a ramp from the car parking area, grab handles beside the patio door, toilet and shower. Stob Binnein, although the accommodation is over two levels, the ground floor has been designed to have all living areas and a twin bedroom with ensuite for guests who would rather not tackle stairs.
